Are you thinking it might be time to repair or install a new roof on your home and wondering when is the best time of year to replace your roof?  Although our professional roofers can work year round for our customers, it is always best to try and plan for the best time for your roof repair, roof installation or complete roof replacement so long as it’s not an emergency roofing repair situation.

If you live in the south, then typically late summer through mid fall months are the best times of year for roofing work.  It’s always best to try to schedule several weeks in advance as most roofing companies will be the busiest during this time of year.

Fall Is The Best Time Of Year To Replace Your Roof

Best time of year to replace your roof in Cumming, Alpharetta and Atlanta.

The reason this time of year is the busiest if because the rainy season is over and the days have begun to cool down and its much easier to predict the weather and also to have better weather compared to some of the other months.

If you are on the fence about if it’s time or not, then one thing to consider is that new composition shingles need to undergo thermal sealing, which can take a few days or possibly even weeks when temperatures are 40 degrees or more.

Replacing your roof in the fall time can be of great advantage also regarding waste because during the hot parts of summer, shingles can get damaged much easier as the roofing shingles are much softer due to the heat.

If you’re worried about the cost, keep in mind that we’ve had some pretty bad weather this year with some serious wind gusts that may have caused enough damage that your home insurance might possibly cover the majority of the costs.  Some homeowners policies require only $1000.00 out of your pocket if you submit an insurance claim for a damaged roof due to bad weather.

Give us a call if you are interested in getting your roof repaired or if you need a completely new roof installed.   Our professional roof inspectors can come out and view your roof and let you know if you have any kind of roof damage due to weather or recent storms.
